Anti-Americanism is so strong on this site. The filter bubble/echo chamber effect of social media is damaging.

I lived abroad for more than a year, and never encountered more than passing hostility on the basis of my nationality. People were mostly curious. iPhones, Teslas, Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. are just as popular abroad as they are here. America has many (if not most) of the world's top research universities. Even now, our oversized military budget adds to global stability.

Yes, America has problems. That doesn't mean we're "disliked on the world stage"—or that the alternatives waiting in the wings are better. Far from it.
